Shipping your vehicle to and from Hawaii
A Hawaii shipment has two parts: getting the vehicle to a West Coast port, and the ocean crossing. Ocean carriers have strict rules, so preparation matters as much as the booking.
A good fit for
- Military moves
- Relocations to the islands
- Returning to the mainland
- Moves between islands
Getting ready for port drop-off
- Empty the vehicle apart from standard equipment
- Keep the fuel level low
- Wash the vehicle inside and out
- Bring proof of ownership and ID
- Get a lienholder letter if it's financed
- Check the current port requirements
Port or door delivery
Ocean shipping runs port to port. If you'd rather not drive to the port on the mainland side, we can look at arranging road transport to it.
Ocean carrier rules
Ocean lines set their own rules for fuel level, personal items and paperwork, and they check them. We'll explain what applies to your shipment before you book.
Ocean carriers usually require the vehicle to be empty apart from standard equipment. Plan to ship belongings separately.
Inter-island moves depend on sailing schedules and ports. Tell us both islands and we'll check what's available.
